A Prelude to the “Covenant with Many”
“He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out on the desolate.” (Daniel 9:27 WEB)
Recently, just earlier this month, Israel and UAE agreed to a peace treaty called the “Abraham Accords”.
According to US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "Israel and the United Arab Emirates will fully normalize their diplomatic relations. They will exchange embassies and ambassadors and begin cooperation across the board and on a broad range of areas including tourism, education, healthcare, trade and security."
This is an unprecedented treaty between Israel and a Middle Eastern nation. Israel has signed treaties with Egypt and Jordan before, but there was no normalization of relations.
I see this as a prelude to the eventual 7-year “covenant with many” that the Antichrist will make.
Israel and UAE agreeing to the Abraham Accords can be considered a big step forward in end-times Bible prophecy.
President Trump urged the other nations in the Middle East to follow in their example, and the UAE is an influential nation in the region.
If the other nations follow suit and opt for peaceful relations with Israel, this will set the stage for the “covenant with many” that will usher in the seven-year Tribulation.
The “covenant with many” will likely have terms allowing Israel to rebuild a third temple in Jerusalem, if not there would be no sacrifices and offerings to cease in the middle of the seven years.
In the middle of the seven-years, the Antichrist will turn on Israel and seek her destruction. It is a covenant of false peace—actually a trap set for Israel’s destruction.
“Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 WEB)
The “departure” (Rapture of the saints) comes first, followed by the revealing of the Antichrist (man of sin, son of destruction). He will set himself up as god to be worshipped in the third temple in Jerusalem.
““When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” (Matthew 24:15-16 WEB)
The Antichrist will set up an image of himself in the temple—an idol for people to worship. Then a time of severe persecution of the Jews will happen.
Let us be watchful and continue to pay attention to what is unfolding in the Middle East. Israel is the “fig tree” which tells us the prophetic season we are in.
““Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near; even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.” (Mark 13:28-29 WEB)
The Abraham Accords tells me that the time for the Rapture (harpazo—the catching away) of the saints is closer than ever.
The time we have left to tell the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ is getting shorter. Let us tell as many as we can, before we ascend in glory to be with God in Heaven!
This post is also for people who haven’t received Jesus as Lord to read. To sow seeds in their hearts so that when the time comes and all these events are fulfilled, they will know that Jesus is Lord. Please share this post to help sow this seed.
In “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”, I reveal the identity and name of the Antichrist by letting the Bible interpret itself, teach on crucial end-time prophecies, and also share how to maximize heavenly rewards to ensure you have the best quality of life in the coming Millennial (thousand-year) reign of Jesus Christ.
